Green Asparagus and Carrot with Sesame Dressing

(Asuparagasu no Goma-ae)





1 bunch green asparagus
1/3 carrot (ninjin)
3 tbsp white sesame seeds (shiro-goma)
2 tsp light soy sauce (usukuchi)
1 tsp sugar (satou)

1. Wash the asparagus and cut the bottom part and scales off.
2. Wash the carrot, peel and cut into bar rectangles.
3. Boil the carrot and asparagus and drain off the water.
4. Parch the sesame seeds and grind in a mortar. Add light soy sauce and sugar and mix.
5. Dress the carrot and asparagus with sesame dressing and dish up in individual bowls.
