Kidny Beans Dressed with Sesame

 (Sando-mame no Goma-ae)




150g kidny beans (sando-mame)
1/2 carrot (ninjin)
3 tbsp white sesame seeds (shiro-goma)
sugar (satou)
soy sauce (shouyu)

1. Wash the kidny beans, remove both ends away, cut in half length and boil in salted hot water. Then soak in cold water and drain the water off.
2. Peel the carrot and cut into rectangles. Boil the carrot in salted hot water and drain the water off.
3. Roast the sesame seeds until sputter and grind in a mortar until sesame seeds are ground to half. Add sugar and soy sauce, then mix. Add the kidny beans and the carrot.

Serves 4
